Bakersfield's Premiere Bass Club
Junes tournament was moved from Lopez (due to low water levels) to Lake Kaweah. 15 boats were on hand to brave the heat. Blast off was called at 5:00 am and we weighed in at 1:00. As long as you were in a windy spot on the lake the 107 degree heat did not seem quite so bad. Fishing was good and 50 fish were caught in total and 7 limits as well. 4th place first boat out of the money was Jeremy Black and Carl Dobbs. 3rd place goes to Clayton Kennedy and Matt Johnston with 6.87 lbs. 2nd was Team Lopez, Greg and Vincent Lopez with a healthy bag of 11.61 lbs. 1st place and first time winners were Joey and Rick Roland with a very nice 11.77 bag. Big fish honors also went to Joey Roland with a 5.30 lb. black bass.
Every tournament this has been first time winners with the club and yet to have a repeat winner. 5 of the 6 tournaments were won by a family team of some combination. A husband and wife team. Two teams with cousins fishing together and two Father and Son teams. Family and fun fishing seem to go together. Can't wait to see who is going to be the first team to get a second win.
This year looks like the year of many different winners and young and experienced. Looks like a fun year. Congrats to all the winners.
