Bakersfield's Premiere Bass Club
July's tournament is back to its roots of going to Isabella. The weather was very nice and the lake appears to be in good shape on the water level. The wind was a factor all day and the trolling motor batteries paid the price. Fishing behind the dam seemed to be a popular option for quite a few boats. Fishing has continued to be tough and only a few fish were caught. 18 boats signed up and only 15 braved the trip to fish. 15 boats and only 14 fish were caught. The most caught by any team was two fish. Fourth place just out of the money was Joey and Rick Roland. Third place was Blake Wood and Kelly Napier. This is Kelly's first time to take home some hardwood. Congrats! Second place was Clayton Kennedy and Matt Johnston. First place goes to a first winner Greg Lopez and Vincent Lopez. Greg Lopez also earned "Big Fish" honors with a 5.65lbs. Congrats to all!
So the trend continues every tournament this has been first time winners with the club and yet to have a repeat winner. 6 of the 7 tournaments were won by a family team of some combination. A husband and wife team. Two teams with cousins fishing together and three Father and Son teams. Family and fun fishing seem to go together. So we are still waiting to see who is going to be the first team to get a second win. This year looks like the year of many different winners and young and experienced. This tournament seemed to favor the experienced veterans. Congrats to all the winners.
